Short story
This morning, the wind was loud and the rain came down hard.
Derek sat in his car, hands on the wheel, taking a deep breath.
He said to himself:
Slow is fine. Safe is better than fast.
He turned on a calm playlist, left extra space on the road, and kept telling himself:
Arriving is the goal.
When he got to work, he was a little later than usual, but he was calm and safe — and that’s what mattered.
